At Protocol, quality is at the heart of everything we do, that’s why we believe we are different. We understand that quality is of fundamental importance to FE providers, so for us, it is paramount that our processes and procedures help our clients deliver learner success, achieve their vision and secure funding for the future.

We always aim to provide a service that contributes towards positive inspection outcomes for our clients. We pro-actively support both our clients and candidates in their preparations for teaching and learning sessions, observations and inspection.

Our commitment to quality

Our commitment to quality over the years has seen the percentage of our candidates being graded ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’ rise consistently from 63% in 2011 to 82% for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Our quality procedures

Prior to any candidate commencing an assignment, we strive to ensure:

  • A full DBS Check is returned using our efficient eSafeguarding system
  • The Candidate has Right to Work in UK documentation
  • Reference checks have been carried out
  • Teaching qualifications have been verified
  • Safeguarding training has been completed
  • Prevent Duty training has been undertaken

When a candidate starts a new assignment we:

  • Proactively assist the college in monitoring the standard of the delivery of teaching and learning through observation feedback for new and existing candidates
  • Proactively assist the college in monitoring the standard of the delivery of teaching and learning through our online candidate assessments process

In addition we will:

  • Carry out a Protocol briefing with each new candidate to the college within the first week of starting
  • Provide online support for candidates to assist in the planning and delivery of quality teaching and learning
  • Ensure that all new candidates read and sign the Protocol Candidate Code of Conduct which clarifies professional expectations

In order for us to ensure we are meeting our Quality Charter we require our clients to:

  • Provide Protocol with all the necessary detail to help us ensure we always supply the right candidate first time
  • Provide feedback on candidate’s in a timely manner so that we can help you fill the position swiftly
  • Liaise with Protocol to resolve any quality concerns over ‘Named Bookings’ where the person being put forward by the college does not meet Protocol database and or quality criteria
  • Ensure a departmental induction takes place in a timely manner with each candidate to include college policy requirements such as Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding and Prevent Duty training
  • Provide Protocol with the results of any lesson observation carried out at the college or complete and submit online Contract Assessment Forms
  • Inform Protocol immediately in the unlikely event that a candidate is not adhering to the Candidate Code of Conduct
