Here at Protocol, we pride ourselves in upskilling our staff in order to aid their personal and professional development. Elise, Marketing Assistant, is the latest member of Team Protocol to embark on her apprenticeship journey!

As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we had a chat with Elise to see how she is feeling about her next challenge:

  1. Why have you chosen to do an apprenticeship?

After completing my university degrees, I felt I was missing vital up-to-date knowledge and skills of marketing. Since becoming a permanent member of team Protocol I believed it was necessary to continue my professional development within marketing. The opportunity arose to seize an apprenticeship that would help me progress within my role as Marketing Assistant. For me, the apprenticeship will provide beneficial knowledge that will be advantageous to Protocol’s marketing strategies. The appeal to do an apprenticeship was that it was offered at different levels, so I was able to pick a course that was best suited to my ambitions. I feel humbled that my employers are investing and supporting me in my career ambition to become a more round-housed marketer and an individual who can benefit our organisation positively.

  1. Why did you choose the course that you did?

I decided to do a Level 4 Marketing Executive Apprenticeship because in my current role as Marketing Assistant I thought this would be a wonderful way to progress within my company. The apprenticeship offered to have many transferable training components that cover technical and employer-led training and workplace projects. After completing the course, I will hopefully have more responsibilities such as delivering marketing campaigns which will help Protocol grow even more and get even more of an edge on our competitors.

  1. What aspects of the course are you most looking forward to?

There is so much offered to me on this course, it will be hard to narrow everything I am looking forward to down. But I am excited to be able to network with more like-minded individuals and expand upon my continuous professional development. Particularly looking forward to the modules I will be learning such as Business and Commercial Awareness which will help me identify a range of influences and expectations when marketing.

  1. How do you feel about studying an apprenticeship alongside working full-time?

I’m very excited to be studying for an apprenticeship alongside my full-time job the element to learn while on my job is great! I believe this will help me implement day-to-day practices within my role and help me become more creative and forward-thinking.

  1. Where will your course take you?

The apprenticeship will help me progress to become a Marketing Executive within the team at Protocol.
