Here at Protocol, we know all about the importance of good people, we pride ourselves in ‘placing people first’ and have been doing so for 25 years now!
Our business is full of great people, and you may only interact with one or two in your work with us, but there is a whole army of support in the background from IT to Marketing and Compliance to Recruitment Consultants. We thought it was important for you to find out a bit more about the people that make up #TeamProtocol. In this series, you will find out a bit about the person behind the screen, or at the end of the phone.
Next in the Protocol Spotlight series, we would like to introduce you to James Williams, Recruitment Manager for North Team. James has been part of the Protocol Family for 2 years’ and is based at our Head Office in Nottingham. Here’s what we found out about him:
- What car do you drive?
Peugeot 307 CC
- What is your favourite food?
A medium rare steak with fondant potatoes
- What is your favourite drink?
I’m a bit of a cocktail drinker, my favourite being “milk and honey” from Alchemist.
- What is your favourite film, book or TV show?
- Do you have any hobbies?
I play bass guitar and I enjoy climbing and trampolining.
- What is your dream holiday destination?
I’d love to visit Iceland or Norway and see the Northern Lights.
- Tell us a fun fact about yourself
I have 2 very friendly rabbits called Gus and Arthur who keep me company when working from home
- Do you have any hidden talents?
I used to do free-running for 8 years and was able to do a 360 back flip on the spot before I got old! I can still do a normal back flip though.
- What’s your dream car?
- What’s your favourite song, band or artist?
Tool – and by a long way!
- What was your dream job as a child?
I never really had a dream job, but I feel like I’m living it at the moment.
- What one skill or talent would you love to be able to master?
I would love to be able to sing, but I’m tone deaf!
- What’s your favourite time of year?
It’s got to be summer! Who doesn’t smile in summer?
- If you could time travel, what year would you go back, or forward to and why?
I would go forward 1.5 billion years. That way the Earth should remain in the habitable zone of the Sun so I won’t get fried, and I will be able to see how far technology and humanity has come, given 3000x longer than current civilisation to progress.
- And finally, why do you love working at Protocol?
I love working at Protocol because we are an extremely free and happy bunch that are encouraged to thrive. We are given the tools, training and support we need to succeed in our own unique ways, rather than being told that there is only one “right” way.
I love that we aren’t all about sales, but understanding the needs of our clients and delivering service beyond expectations. It makes me proud to be a recruiter.
