As part of our celebrations for our 25th anniversary we sat down with some of our staff members who also happen to share our year of birth! Over the next few weeks we’ll be hearing from staff across the various teams at Protocol to find out how their role is going, what they enjoy about working at Protocol and what it is like being young (Oh to be 25 again!)
First up is Harry who works in our Senior Interim and Management team.
- What do you like about working at Protocol?
The people, supportive in both work and personal life. As long as you can stomach the occasional terrible dad joke from Solman or myself, it’s a good place to be.
- What do you enjoy most about your role?
Supporting an industry so important to the future of the country. FE gets some bad press but there are people that work tirelessly in colleges up and down the country to make sure we are more educated then anywhere else in the world. Getting to support those people makes this job worth it.
- How do you find working in your team?
I love working in my team, I’m the newest into this senior industry and being able to pick at some of the knowledge from such a class team is a privilege. Then Chloe will say something like “flying to Europe isn’t international travel” and I realise they are human and not gods.
- And with the other teams and staff in the business?
I am always sticking my nose into the other team’s business. I started my journey here are Protocol with the Mighty South Team so they probably get it a bit worse, but I can’t help myself. Protocols FE teams are the life blood of the industry, day in day out they are supporting my colleges and getting their students taught, they have the most up-to-date market information and if I, or one of my clients, were in a jam I’d be calling them.
- What have you learned from your role so far?
I have learned that the FE industry is truly unique, we are a community all striving towards the same goal and that we should be helping in any capacity we can. That’s why I think Protocols extra offerings are perfect for FE.
- Favourite Protocol memory to date?
Favourite memory to date… there have been loads but ones you can post for the public to see… I think winning Christmas jumper day and the Christmas party.
