We are very pleased to have had our very own COO Ian Sackree be invited to sit on the funding panel at this year’s Apprenticeships4England Conference which will be held at the Emirates Stadium in London 25th and 26th February.
As well as sitting on the panel, Ian will be joined by Scott Dalziel, our Employer Engagement Manager who will be available to chat to on our Protocol Assessment Services stand.
Apprenticeships4England was set up to support the growth of apprenticeships in England and this is its 4th annual conference.
Last year, almost 500,000 new apprentices started their studies – a 14% rise on the previous year. This number is only set to rise, with continued government investment in apprenticeship schemes, along with the Education and Skills Act, which now requires young people to stay in education or training until the age of 18.
Recognising this we have also recently invested in our provision of assessment and examination services to enable us to deliver even more of these much needed services with FE and the private sector via our uniquely flexible and cost effective solutions.
Ian Sackree commented:
“The apprenticeship space has never been more exciting than at present. We have unprecedented opportunity for growth, transparency over who has access to the money for delivery, and are about to enter a true demand led system where the end skills user will make the final call over who gets to deliver, and thus be paid. Going forward, quality will trump quantity which is yet another game changer! The Skills Minister has challenged colleges to stop Training Providers ‘nicking their lunch’, but I think that is easier said than done… This conference brings together all the stakeholders in apprenticeships and I am personally looking forward to speaking, debating, networking and to learning!”
