Protocol are working with one of the country’s fastest growing Awarding Organisations who are seeking a first-class Business Development Manager.

We are now looking for a BDM in the South to develop our client’s market share in skills, training, apprenticeships and end-point assessment. This role is about identifying, approaching and recruiting new customers: private training providers and further education colleges offering learning programmes which lead to our client’s regulated or endorsed qualifications. This is an autonomous role which requires highly motivated individuals happy working alone within set parameters. Full details of the commission structure will be given at interview stage.

 

Role responsibilities

  • Generate leads in line with our sales strategy (for example, focusing upon a geographical location, a type of centre or a particular suite of qualifications).

  • Conduct sales visits to prospective clients, providing advice and guidance on our products and systems with a focus on the benefits of using us as their awarding organisation.

  • Rigorously follow up on contacts made to maximise on every opportunity.

  • Develop relationships with key influencers within centres.

  • Coordinate smooth hand over of newly recruited centres to Account Managers.

  • Maintain an in depth knowledge of the products and services offered by the client, undertaking CPD where required.

  • Attend monthly meetings with the Managing Director to review progress.

  • Contribute towards company objectives in both sales and compliance.

  • Represent our client at sector specific meetings.

  • Be part of the continuous improvement team.

The person & qualifications

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Have a proven track record of successful sales experience (preferably within the education sector).

  • Be prepared to work in a regulated environment with a constant eye to maintaining and improving regulatory compliance.

  • Have a strong sales and customer service focus
