Protocol are proud to be working in partnership with Northumberland College to recruit for a Lecturer in Foundation Studies (Rural Pathways).

Northumberland College has recently achieved a ‘Good’ in Ofsted inspections as well as top honours from the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) in achieving a Silver award for higher education teaching.

With centres in Ashington, Kirkley Hall, Berwick, Newcastle, Hexham and Blyth, the courses offered allow students to be work-ready and highly skilled

Role responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will teach across the Rural Pathways programme and have proven experience in working with students who have an Educational Health Care Plan.  They will also be expected to teach in one or more of the following subject area: Horticulture, Performing Arts, Catering, Animal Care, Enterprise and Sport. They will ideally have experience in education, be a qualified lecturer and be keen to work with students of all ages with to gain developing their skills.
  • We need an experienced lecturer with proven experience working with individuals at Entry Level and Level 1 who may have complex learning and support needs.

The person & qualifications

  • Certificate in Education, PGCE or equivalent

  • Degree in a relevant subject

  • Hold appropriate Institute for Learning membership for the post (can be applied for after taking up the post)

  • Willingness to achieve a Certificate in Education, PGCE or equivalent within a specified timescale
