The College are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work within the Animal Care department working 4 days a week, this role for the right candidate has the potential to result in a permanent position.

This college is one of the leading FE colleges based in West Yorkshire with over 7 campuses across the region. The college has very good facilities across all the sites including easy access parking, food facilities and more. The college is very ambitious and has been graded GOOD by OFSTED with some areas even close to or graded as OUTSTANDING.

The job

Supporting students within the Animal Care department through their qualification. You will be a key player in enabling students to overcome barriers to learning due to learning difficulties and disabilities, specific learning difficulties, physical and sensory impairments, mental health problems, low literacy and numeracy levels or difficulties with motivation and behaviour.

  • Provide assistance to individuals or groups in a wide range of activities that are included in the learning programme
  • Act as an advocate for students, in and out of class

The person & qualifications

  • Experience within a Learning Support role or an Animal care background
  • To be able to form effective relationships with young people and a wide range of professionals
