Protocol are delighted to be recruiting for a hairdressing assessor for a leading West Midlands FE and HE establishment. We are seeking candidates who are passionate and knowledgeable about hairdressing and have the drive and motivation to help learners to progress in their careers, increase their employability and support their personal development. The ideal candidate will have a strong industry background within the hair industry, experience of training and assessing students, and have strong organisational and communication skills in order to inspire and educate learners.
This position would be working with around 9 apprentices, which would consist of 45 hours per month assessing and 10 hours admin. The contract is likely to last 6 months with a September start!
- Visiting apprentices off site at employers premises
- Complete assessments and progress reviews
- Complete admin around the apprenticeship – using smart assessor
- Attend meetings and support the teaching staff
The person & qualifications
- Hold an assessors qualification
- Level 3 hairdressing qualification
- Experience of afro Caribbean hair – straightening
- Be familiar with the new hairdressing professional standards
- Experience of assessing learners
