Protocol are proudly working with The Learner Journey Department at South Staffordshire College to recruit a Mentor to work with learners on a 1-1 and group basis to provide high quality pastoral support to raise aspirations and improve success. Students selected for mentoring present with a wide range of support needs that are often managed, and frequently overcome, with the support of a Learning Mentor. Mentoring provides support for students who experience barriers to learning. Mentoring provides 1:1 guidance for learning, in a constructive, supportive and professional setting and is an intrinsic and successful element of the support system.

This role is full-time and permanent during term time only (42 weeks per year) and will be based in Lichfield, Staffordshire with some work based at the colleges other campus’.

The person & qualifications

  • A level 4 qualification in a relevant subject (i.e. Mentoring/Coaching/IAG/Learning Support)
  • OR significant previous experience in a Learning Mentor role 
  • Level 2 Numeracy & Literacy
