Our client currently has an exciting opportunity to join them on a full-time permanent basis as a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer (Apprenticeships & Practical Skills).
Role responsibilities
- To teach on a range of programmes in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on practical skills
- The main purpose of the job is to ensure the retention and achievement of students through the delivery of good practice in teaching and learning
- To teach, develop and improve programmes of study in subjects and courses relevant to the post holder’s knowledge, qualifications and experience
- To teach on a range of apprenticeships frameworks and standards such as engineering technicians e.g. machinist, mechatronics, engineering fitter, maintenance and operations
- To assist course team leaders / section manager with course timetables within the area
- To assist the Head of School in the initiation, planning and development of new courses within the area of Engineering
- To assist the course team leaders / section manager with staff, venue and commercial training timetables within the School
The person & qualifications
- You must have a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one
- Have a minimum of a L3 in a relevant subject / degree
- Recent experience of teaching Mechanical Engineering, focussing on Practical Skills
- Must be enthusiastic and inspiring to learners
- Must have an enhanced DBS on the update service or within 12 months (or be willing to apply for one)
