Protocol are delighted to invite an experienced Trainer Assessor to deliver brand new apprenticeship standards at a well-renowned provider of further education and training in Birmingham!

We are seeking candidates with a history of providing excellent training and assessment and a professional background of business improvement/quality assurance within the service sector (including manufacturing, automotive, defence, food, pharmaceutical, nuclear, retail, financial services, logistics services, public sector and government). 

You will have the drive and motivation to help learners to progress in their careers, increase their employability and support their personal development, delivering the Level 4 Quality Practitioner apprenticeship standards to apprentices in their workplace (which is a contact centre in Coventry). There will be a requirement to go to the college in Birmingham from time to time.

The Quality Practitioner qualification can be likened to Business Improvement Techniques (at a higher level). The four main areas covered by the standard are: 1. Quality Planning (planning a delivery system for reliable outputs, such as implementing Quality Management Plans), 2. Quality Assurance (providing confidence to stakeholders that Quality standards are maintained, such as conducting audits), 3. Quality Control (verifying a product or service is meeting agreed specifications, such as carrying out inspections) and 4. Continuous Improvement (preventing recurrence of poor quality through analysis and addressing the root cause of poor quality, such as conducting investigations). 

At present the role consists of 53 hours per month on a flexible basis – 14 hours delivering training, 28 hours of assessment and 11 hours of administration – this is likely to increase with time. The majority of the role can be completed remotely if that is preferable.

The person & qualifications

  • An assessors award
  • Qualified in Quality Assurance/Quality Control/ Business Improvement Techniques (or related) Minimum Level 4
  • A strong industry background in quality control/business improvement
