West London College are looking for a Health and Social care Lecturer to join the college. If you are as committed, driven and enthusiastic we would love to hear from you.

*This is a temporary contract for 18 hours per week*

Key Purpose:                  

To teach Level 4 & 5 in Healthcare Practice. You will also be able to contribute to curriculum development of the H&SC course offer particularly covering mental health awareness, end of life care, anatomy and physiology, dementia awareness and care psychology. 

Units to teach include:

  • Demonstrating Professional Principles and Values in Health and Social Care Practice
  • Supporting the Individual Journey through Integrated Health and Social Care
  • Fundamentals of Evidence-based Practice
  • Supporting Adults in Residential Care
  • Effective Reporting and Record-Keeping in Health and Social Care Services
  • Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Ill Health
  • Law, Policy and Ethical Practice in Health and Social Care- completed
  • Developing Operational Management Skills for Healthcare Practice

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. To maintain up to date subject and sector knowledge and experience. 
  2. To be a tutor to full or part-time students.
  3. To promote and safeguard the wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults that s/he is responsible for or comes into contact with.
  4. To assist where appropriate, with the establishment and monitoring of student work placements

Experience:

  • Demonstrable and successful experience of teaching Health & Social Care Levels 1-3 and Levels 4-5.
  • Experience of teaching Health & Social Care, with positive outcomes for students.

Education:

  • A level of Maths & English Qualifications relevant to the post (Level 3 minimum)
  • A relevant first degree or a professional qualification in Health & Social Care.
  • A level 4 teaching qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE) or the willingness to achieve one in line with statutory requirements.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
