Protocol are working with a college in the South West on their appointment of a Director of Further Education. If successful, you will be a member of the College Strategic Leadership Team, responsible for 4 curriculum areas within the college. 

Role responsibilities

  • Working closely with Heads of Department and other direct reports, to provide leadership on curriculum and quality related matters for further education across the Directorate, including the development of excellence in teaching, learning and assessment.
  • In consultation with the Vice Principal Curriculum and Quality, to work with Heads of Department and direct reports to develop and deliver targets which secure quality improvement across Directorate provision for all students.
  • To ensure that there are clear and visible links to industry in all programmes which manifest in supporting students to secure meaningful experience of work through direct employer contact, work experience and industry placement.


The person & qualifications

  • Experience of improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in further education.
  • Evidence of developing curricula which align to labour market priorities and student demand.
  • Successful track record of developing curriculum in response to employer and other stakeholder needs.
  • Excellent influencing, networking and consultative skills.
