Protocol are working closely with a Further Education College based in Sheffield in their search for an experienced Work Based Learning Tutor to take on a cohort of Electrical Engineering Apprentices and help them on the educational journey and support their personal development. 

The role:
As a Work Based Learning Tutor you will be responsible for a caseload of apprentices, taking them on a successful and exciting journey to achieve their planned learning programme within the targeted timeframe. You will be developing a scheme of work for the curriculum and individual learning plans to ensure high quality, off the job delivery which develops the apprentice’s knowledge, skills and behaviours and prepares them for end point assessment.

You will be effectively collaborating between college staff, employers and the apprentices to ensure timely achievement of the apprenticeship programme which builds strong, positive relationships Tracking and monitoring progress of the apprentice using the colleges preferred e-portfolio system, whilst also delivering an outstanding service to apprentices and employers, the post holder will be expected to take part in quality monitoring and continuous quality improvement activities as outlined in the Quality policy.

The person 
We are therefore seeking candidates that are experienced within Electrical Engineering and proving work placed assessments and training for apprentices and students across a range of levels. The individual will be upbeat, motivated, inspiring and passionate in order to motivate students and encourage and support them in achieving and striving to achieve during their apprenticeships. The individual along with this will also be familiar and confident with different Electrical Engineering frameworks and standards and with the use of E-portfolio systems. 

This role is offering full time hours on a Permanent OR Temporary basis, with a competitive salary and additional benefits packages. 

Have you got what it takes? 

  • A level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area (Electrical Engineering) 
  • An assessors award 
  • Experience doing work place assessments of Electrical Engineering students across a range of levels 
  • Experience and knowledge of Electrical Engineering standards and Frameworks
