Protocol is working closely with a highly prestigious college to recruit a HR Advisor to support the HR Manager and work as part of the HR team to provide a highly quality, business focused, flexible and operational HR service across the College.

You will need an Enhanced DBS, Ideally on the update service

Salary: £25,899 – £30,909

Location : Richmond with occasional visits to Surbiton when required

The person & qualifications

  • Qualified to CIPD level 3 or working towards (opportunity to qualify to level 5)
  • Up-to-date knowledge and application of employment law.
  • Demonstrable experience within a HR officer/advisory role.
  • An understanding of IT systems and databases, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Good organisation skills with ability to coordinate and plan workload.
  • Good problem-solving skills in order to deal with disputes, grievances and other employee related issues


  • Support and coach line managers in the implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Support the HR Manager on all generalist issues and specific projects.
  • Provide support and guidance to managers on a wide range of human resource issues.
  • Work with the Quality team to support the College’s quality performance, improvement plans and staff development.
  • Maintain and develop Human Resources Information Systems providing up-to-date reports for management.
  • Ensure contracts of employment and amendments are issued as appropriate, that job descriptions and individual HR files are kept up to date, including updating the HR database.
  • Advise appropriate departments on starters, leavers and employee changes.
  • Lead on all aspects of the recruitment process from advertising through to selection, ensuring compliance with College policies.
  • Work with the Payroll Officer in maintenance of relevant pensions administration.
  • Take an active role in ensuring that the College stays at the forefront of its Health and Safety obligations, including co-ordinating first aiders across the College, including the daily cover rota, training requirements, termly meetings and updates.
