Protocol is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer, you will provide and deliver an effective payroll service to external customers of the HR department and internal uses, ensuring an effective, efficient and responsive service.

You will need an Enhanced DBS Ideally on the update service

Salary:  £21,562 per annum.

The person & qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant area.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience
  • Good working knowledge of relevant statutory legislation and regulations
  • Ability to manually calculate tax, NIC, SSP, SMP and other relevant payments.

Duties

  • To complete reconciliations and statutory payments in relation to external customers of the College’ services.
  • To contribute to the day-to-day services of HR by providing assistance, advice and specific payroll information to internal and external customers regarding a range of matters including maternity, tax, NIC, redundancy and other pay issues.
  • To provide active support to senior staff in the development of systems, procedures and quality initiatives affecting the payroll services including ad hoc arrangements to meet urgent needs.
  • To promote good working relations to foster learning
