Protocol are working with a local authority in Liverpool to recruit an Employability Tutor to teach adults in a community setting on a part-time flexible basis.
In every local authority area across Liverpool, the adult education learning service targets the most deprived deciles of population. This organisation’s focus is on employability, health and wellbeing and community engagement. Their culture directly addresses the vision to improve the economy and the life chances of those in the Liverpool City Region.
The adult education service in Liverpool is a first steps provider, mainly delivering qualifications up to level 2 (GCSE equivalent). Many learners attend to gain skills and qualifications for work. There is also a significant range of non-qualification courses which support health and well-being. These courses are all delivered in association with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
Working hours in this post are as follows:
- May – Monday 23rd, Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th (09.30 – 15.00)
- June – Monday 13th, Tuesday 14th, Wednesday 15th (09.30 – 15:00) and one further session for half a day morning or afternoon.
There are also potentially more hours available for somebody to some work with Job Centre Plus.
- Supporting the learning of groups or individuals identified
- Planning, delivering, and ensuring the smooth running of courses
- Monitoring and evaluation of activities
The person & qualifications
- A recognised teaching qualification (minimum level 3)
- Previous experience delivering employability courses
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain)
- (Desirable) experience teaching adult learners
