Head of Finance (Hybrid)

We are looking for a Head of finance to join our team in a Higher Education Institution in Dorset. This role is perfect for an individual who is looking to lead and manage staff across the Finance section in support of the University’s strategic mission, vision, and values, providing coaching and support as required.

The Role

  • To lead and manage the Finance professionals and team with responsibility for the
    development and implementation of policies in relation to Finance, ensuring that these
    are aligned to the strategic direction of the University and implemented to high levels of
    user satisfaction.
  •  To deliver a considerable variety of work with recognised expertise from strategic
    financial reporting, forecasting and budget planning through to the implementation of
    finance systems, the provision of management accounts information, the payment of staff
    and all stakeholders and the collection of income.
  • To oversee project implementations, integrations, and upgrades of financial functions
    with the ability to evaluate the best business process within those systems to enhance
    the University’s digital infrastructure.
  • To work with customers, other services and external agencies as appropriate
    as may be required in the delivery of duties.
  • To plan and allocate work within the Finance section. Take responsibility for
    longer term planning in line with the overall direction and longer-term plans of
    the Finance area.

You Will Need

  • Experience with working within Higher Education (Desirable)
  • Experience of managing and leading staff

Qualifications

  • Post graduate qualification in relevant subject 
  • Degree Level qualification
  • Subject related qualification or professional membership accreditation- ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA
