Protocol is excited to be working with a Further Education College based in Bath to recruit for a Student Welfare Officer based in their two campuses. The College is committed to providing a broad range of academic subjects and the rapidly growing department is looking for passionate and motivated people to join the team. 

Role responsibilities

  • To support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), along with the Deputy DSL and the Senior Student Welfare Officer, to carry out the College’s statutory duty to safeguard Learners.  
  • To conduct workshops with tutor groups on mental health awareness and other emotional, health and wellbeing topics
  • To observe and keep aware of Health and Safety documentation and procedures in line with College policy
  • To undertake other additional duties, consistent with the role as may be deemed appropriate by your line manager

The person & qualifications

  • possess a Level 3 Safeguarding qualification or be willing to gain one within the first 6 months. 
  • Previous experience as a Student Welfare officer or similar role is desirable 
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above or equivalent
