A large FE group in Derbyshire that provides excellent learning experiences to thousands of students per year are recruiting for a Business and Economics Teacher to teach A-Level students, full-time, on a permanent basis from 24th August 2022.

The ideal candidate will be PGCE qualified and have a proven ability to deliver excellent teaching across Business and Economics Courses. You will be joining a growing and thriving department, and an incredibly vibrant and high performing team. You will be working with post-16 learners and will be a dedicated and motivated professional ready to provide an innovative, dynamic and responsive delivery to meet the needs of our A Level students. You will also have excellent administration and interpersonal skills and excel working as part of a team.

Role responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional teaching and learning and motivate, inspire and engage learners
  • To be responsible for all students/support staff within your classroom/workshop and ensure they are provided with appropriate information, instruction, training and supervision so as not to compromise their health, safety or well-being.
  • To undertake risk assessments for all current and future practical activities/assessments and equipment and maintain/update as per college guidelines
  • To manage learning by using a variety of delivery modes and preparing effective learning materials for presenting and delivering information.
  • Setting, marking and recording of students work including assessments as necessary
  • Maintenance of class registers, work programmes and records in your area of work
  • To positively contribute to a safe learning and work environment ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and Safeguarding Policy and Procedure

The person & qualifications

  • Certificate in Education/PGCE/Professional Diploma in Teaching or willing to work towards.
  • Professional Subject Qualification at Level 4 or Advanced craft qualification if in vocational area.
  • Degree in subject taught
  • Level 2 Maths
  • Level 2 English
  • Recent experience of delivering A-Level Economics/Business
  • Successful track record of student achievement in A-level Economics/Business
  • Degree or higher in Business or Economics (or closely related)
  • Availability to work in the new academic year
  • A DBS on the update service (or a certificate issued in last 12 months and willing to apply for new)
