LOCATION: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
SALARY: £21,682 per annum
QRS are looking for a Apprenticeship Officer to join the Apprenticeship Academy team on a full-time permanent basis.
The postholder will provide a full and comprehensive apprenticeship recruitment service that includes: advertising vacancies, assessing and selecting candidates, matching applicants to vacancies. The postholder will have a caseload of apprentices and is responsible for monitoring and tracking progress, communicating with College staff, the apprentice and the employers to ensure the apprentice is successful on their apprenticeship and completes in a timely manner. The postholder will be responsible for offering student advice and guidance and identifying appropriate learning support which may be of a specialist nature
Role Responsibilities
- To prepare adverts to attract and recruit learners onto apprenticeships using national or other advertising systems/media, building a pool of learners as appropriate.
- To shortlist, conduct first interviews and initial assessment of candidates to determine suitability for programme, providing information, advice and guidance for alternative study options where appropriate.
- To match applicants to vacancies to provide candidates for employers to interview, liaising with the Assessor and/or employer as appropriate on the assessment of specialist skills and experience.
- To complete all administration necessary to support the recruitment process and enable learners to start their training programme.
- To ensure that employers are fully briefed and understand their commitment to providing the on-the-job training and support required to enable the apprentice to succeed as part of the recruitment and selection stages.
- To assist out of placement (OOPs) apprentices with signposting, job search, CVs and new placement opportunities and ensure documentation complies with funding requirements and through liaison with employers to assist OOPs learners with new placements.
The person & qualifications
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades A-C, including English and Maths) or equivalent
- Level 2 IT Qualification
- Previous experience of recruitment to include advertising, short-listing, interviews, contracts and pre-employment checks
- Recent relevant experience, including target setting to help ensure learners achieve their goals

The working hours for this role are Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5pm, Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
