We are working with a large Further Education Land based College based in Preston to recruit within their Agriculture department.

The College and University Centre has a nationally and internationally recognised Further Education, Higher Education, Adult Education and Apprenticeship provision. The Further Education provision is well established, the Higher Education provision has a well-recognised partnership with UCLan and the apprenticeship provision is operational nationally. Our client currently has an opportunity to join them on a Part time/Permanent basis as a Agriculture Lecturer (18.5 hours per week) 

Duties

  • To teach agriculture and countryside subjects to FE students
  • To be responsible for the day to day management and leadership of designated FE agriculture course/s as applicable.
  • Participate in research and scholarly activities, as required by your line manager.
  • Proactively enhance the academic reputation for your area role modelling and sharing best practice at all times both internally and externally.

The person & qualifications

  • A Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Teaching qualification eg PGCE / Cert Ed or equivalent
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or an equivalent standard)
  • Consistent lesson Observations and high success rates with learners
  • OR Significant industry experience and willing to work towards a teaching qualification within agreed time period

£21,012 – £31,536 full-time equivalent per annum relating to qualifications and experience.

Teacher qualified staff commence at minimum £24,467

Staff have access to Teachers’ Pension Scheme & 40 days annual leave to include up to 5 days to be taken between Christmas and New Year at direction of the Principal, plus Bank Holidays
