Catering Technician 

Shrewsbury 
32 hours per week Working hours: 09:30 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday and a shorter day on the Friday.
Start date: Monday 2 September End date: Friday 20 December 2024 
Pay – £13-£16 per hour

The role; 
You will be working full time in a Further Education Catering and Hospitality Department. This will be assisting the department and the main grade lecturers with the smooth running of the classes. 
Within this position you will be working alongside the Chef and lecturing staff ensuring all students are gaining the support and guidance needed during their time in education. This will including supporting with all practical work, maintaining the kitchens and the work stations, managing and maintaining stock and generally supporting the department in the day to day running. 

The person; 
We are therefore seeking individuals that have experience working within Hospitality/ Catering/ Chef roles and that are familliar and confident working within fast paces kitchen and catering environments. This person will be experience with ordering and maintaining stock, maintaining cooking work spaces and ensuring all food and utensils are of top quality. The ideal person would come from this industy background but could potentially have any experience in supporting other team members or working directly with learners or apprentices. 

Have you got what it takes?

  • Experience working within Hospitality/ Catering/ Chef positions 
  • Experience in managing and maintaining kitchen/ catering work places 
  • Level 2 or above qualification in a relevant field (catering/ hospitality/ cooker etc) 
  • Level 2 Math’s and English Qualifications
