Protocol are working closely with a Further Education College based in Portsmouth in their search for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to assist students across a range of levels within the college.

 

About the Role:

As a 1:1 / Small Group Learning Support Assistant (LSA) at this College, you will support students with special educational needs in a 1:1 or small group setting. Responsibilities include assisting during break and lunch times, and on external outings.

You will follow Educational Health Care Plan requirements, promoting independence and high expectations.

Various hours available –

36 working weeks per year, 44.2 paid weeks per year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • Track and record students’ progress.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and other college staff.

Requirements:

  • Ability to support young people.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of working with young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
