Job Title: Electrical Installations Lecturer

Location: East of England, Cambridgeshire-based College

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £27,425 – £40,369 Per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver high-quality lectures and practical sessions on electrical installations to students.
  • Create and deliver interactive lesson plans, ensuring alignment with curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, including individualised assistance and feedback on their progress.
  • Develop and administer assessments, exams, and assignments to evaluate student performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in electrical installations to incorporate relevant content into teaching materials.
  • Supervise and coordinate practical training activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve the curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • Vocational qualification to at least NVQ 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installations.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Demonstrated expertise and practical experience in electrical installations.
  • Prior teaching or training experience in electrical installations is desirable.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience working in the electrical installations industry.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of electrical installations principles, regulations, and safety procedures.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Recognised teaching qualification.
