We’re looking for qualified Engineers to train the next generation – and you could be perfect!
Training, teaching or assessing engineering is a great option if you:
- Want to top up your income alongside your current role
- Are retired, semi-retired or looking to down tools
- Would like to gain new skills and possibly a teaching qualification
- Want a rewarding position where you can pass on your skills
You’re not confined to working in a classroom – we work with colleges, training providers, end-point assessment organisations and local authorities, so you could also be supporting learners in a workshop, on-site, or in their workplace.
With roles available from full time to just a few days a year – no matter your situation, we’re sure to have something to suit your lifestyle.
- Be professionally qualified in your trade to a minimum of level 3
- Have at least 3 years of industry experience
- Previously mentored, trained or supported a junior member of staff (an apprentice is ideal)
Even better (but not essential) if you:
- Have a teaching qualification – PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, Cert Ed
- Have an assessing award – A1, IQA
- Have specialist qualifications in your subject area
- Have previous formal teaching or training experience
There’s plenty of different roles to consider within education, and not all of them need a traditional teaching qualification. Our clients are looking for lecturers, tutors, trainers, assessors, end-point assessors, technicians, and managers specialising in engineering – and many will even support you to undertake a teaching or assessing qualification while you’re working.
You’ll also need to undertake Safeguarding and Prevent training, as well as apply for an Enhanced DBS Certificate – but Protocol can help you through all of these!
