The College operates over 2 campuses in Leeds City Centre, both with excellent facilities, having received regular investment. We excel in the delivery of apprenticeships and have built incredibly robust connections with leading regional, national and international organisations. Alongside this we have invested heavily in the College’s higher education provision which, as a strategic priority, has grown significantly over the past five years.

By playing a significant role in meeting local, regional and national skills needs of employers, students and stakeholders, LCB has responded to the growth in 16-18, apprenticeships and higher education provision, accommodating 5,500 students annually and providing over 200 courses from entry level to level 6.
Our Ofsted “Good” grade, earned as recently as 2019 recognises that we have brilliant students, excellent staff and sector-leading teaching and learning resources, that will give our next leader the tools they need to succeed. Through astute business and financial management, we are rated EFSA “Good” financial health.
The successful appointee will possess a clear understanding of the FE landscape and be able to demonstrate knowledge of the key national education and skills policies, priorities, and agendas, in order to lead LCB through the next evolution of the sector, successfully navigating any challenges that may arise. You may or may not have a background in Construction, but you will have an impressive history of impact and achievement and be a highly visible, motivational leader. You’ll have a successful track record within a curriculum, skills or resources background and possess strong business and financial acumen. You will be a forward-thinking team player, committed to supporting the Board to develop and deliver ambitious plans for the College.

Leeds College of Building (LCB) is the only General Further Education College (GFEC) in the UK dedicated to the construction industry. Since the 1960s, we have played a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education & training for the industry, and we remain committed to supporting new developments and ensuring vocational and technical provision meets industry needs. The construction industry adds enormous value to the country. It provides many jobs (over 2.7 million), and its output (8%) is essential for commerce, housing, infrastructure and repairs & maintenance. LCB is proud and honoured to support the continuing and future needs of a highly skilled construction industry workforce.
The College has responded to the growth in 16-18, apprenticeships and higher education provision, and provides over 200 courses from entry level to level 6.

The College is based over two locations in Leeds: North Street Campus and South Bank Campus. The campuses provide world class learning environments and classroom and workshop facilities for craft and higher technical courses in building services engineering, construction trades, rail and higher education, allowing further expansion of provision to meet employer and student needs.
