Here at Protocol, we know all about the importance of good people, we pride ourselves in ‘placing people first’ and have been doing so for 25 years now!
Our business is full of great people, and you may only interact with one or two in your work with us, but there is a whole army of support in the background from IT to Marketing and Compliance to Recruitment Consultants. We thought it was important for you to find out a bit more about the people that make up #TeamProtocol. In this series, you will find out a bit about the person behind the screen, or at the end of the phone.
To continue the Protocol Spotlight series, we would like to introduce you to Debbie Hill, Senior Recruitment Consultant for our North Team. Debbie has been part of the Protocol Family for almost 14 years, and is based at Head Office in Nottingham. Here’s what we found out about Debbie:
- What car do you drive?
A 2006 Ford Fiesta (when it works!) with a Vauxhall Vectra as a back up!
- What is your favourite food?
I love a good Chinese takeaway. Pork Chow Mein, spring rolls, prawn toast and crackers!
- What is your favourite drink?
You can’t beat a nice glass of Pinot! And I drink far too much coffee!
- What is your favourite film, book or TV show?
I love anything to do with murder or serial killers! Favourite books are the Alex Cross novels by James Patterson. I also read the Harry Potter books at least once a year!
- What is your dream holiday destination?
I went to Thailand for my sister’s wedding and would love to take the family back there
- Do you have any hobbies?
I like crafts. Sewing, pyrography, woodwork, resin. Anything apart from knitting, I just can’t get to grips with that!
- Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I’ve ran four marathons. London Marathon twice and the Nottingham Marathon twice
- Do you have any hidden talents?
I can walk on my hands!
- What sports teams do you follow?
I’m a huge Formula 1 fan. I support Lewis Hamilton as a driver and McLaren as a team. I have a huge soft spot for Lando Norris too!
- What’s your dream car?
I’m not too fussed about cars, as long as it gets me from A to B, I’m happy.
- What’s your favourite song, band or artist?
Paradise by the Dashboard Light by Meatloaf. I also love Robbie Williams & Queen. Current album on repeat is the Hamilton soundtrack! I’m showing my age!
- What was your dream job as a child?
I wanted to be a Ballet Dancer. I still dance around the living room in my pointe shoes sometimes!
- What one skill or talent would you love to be able to master?
I wish I could sing. But I definitely can’t…
- What’s your favourite time of year?
Autumn. When the leaves start falling and the weather is dry but cool.
- If you could time travel, what year would you go back, or forward to and why?
Maybe the 60’s and get fully caught up in Beatle Mania.
- Do you have any pets?
A German Shepherd called Dexter.
- And finally, why do you love working at Protocol?
It sounds corny but it’s like having a big extended family! I couldn’t imagine doing recruitment anywhere else. The team are not just work colleagues but friends as well.
