Here at Protocol, we know all about the importance of good people, we pride ourselves in ‘placing people first’ and have been doing so for 25 years now!

Our business is full of great people, and you may only interact with one or two in your work with us, but there is a whole army of support in the background from IT to Marketing and Compliance to Recruitment Consultants. We thought it was important for you to find out a bit more about the people that make up #TeamProtocol. In this series, you will find out a bit about the person behind the screen, or at the end of the phone.

To continue the Protocol Spotlight series, we would like to introduce you to Jo Featherstone, Compliance & Support Officer. Jo has been part of the Protocol Family around 5 years now, and is based at Head Office in Nottingham (or at present, her dining room!). Here’s what we found out about Jo:

  1. What car do you drive?

Mini Clubman

  1. What is your favourite food?

Christmas dinner – and nobody makes it like my mum.

  1. What is your favourite drink?

Tea (builders, 2 sweeteners) or Diet Lemonade.

  1. What is your favourite film, book or TV show?

Book: too many to mention, but I have one on my bookshelf that I re-read regularly – The Betrayal. I want it to be made into a movie – it would be a real blockbuster.

TV: The Repair Shop. Just easy, feel-good telly.

Film: Mary Poppins. I know all the dialogue and song lyrics!

  1. What is your dream holiday destination?

Kefalonia, Greece. As a family we have been several times and we all love it there. Great people, great culture, great weather, great food. What else could you want? The dream is to have a holiday home there one day!

  1. Do you have any hobbies?

I love reading and going for a good long walk in the countryside.

  1. Tell us a fun fact about yourself.

I do a great impression of Janine the Receptionist in Ghostbusters.

  1. Do you have any hidden talents?

I’m really rather good at making fancy dress costumes, particularly from stuff lying around the house. Always handy when you’ve got children and they need a costume for World Book Day/Nativity/Theme Day at school!

  1. What sports teams do you follow?

None, I’m not a sports fan, I’m afraid!

  1. What’s your dream car?

Something vintage and really cool…when I win the lottery!

  1. What’s your favourite song, band or artist?

OMG – I couldn’t possibly pick one – it changes depending on my mood and whether I need to hear lyrics that resonate with me, or just need to dance around like a lunatic, embarrassing my children. (I do that a lot – it’s my job as their mother!)

  1. What was your dream job as a child?

I would love to have been a QVC/Shopping Channel presenter.

  1. What one skill or talent would you love to be able to master?

Singing – It would be great to be able to just belt out a tune without any duff notes!

  1. What’s your favourite time of year?

Spring – longer days, warmer weather, all the plants waking up after winter – magical

  1. If you could time travel, what year would you go back, or forward to and why?

Mushy as it sounds, I would go back to 2004 to our wedding day, but take our kids with us – I’d love them to have experienced such an amazing day with us.

  1. Do you have any pets?

A British Blue cat with half a tail called Ivy.

  1. And finally, why do you love working at Protocol?

I love the people I work with – it really is a super team and a great company

Keep your eyes peeled for the next instalment of Protocol Spotlight…
