Here at Protocol, we know all about the importance of good people, we pride ourselves in ‘placing people first’ and have been doing so for 25 years now!
Our business is full of great people, and you may only interact with one or two in your work with us, but there is a whole army of support in the background from IT to Marketing and Compliance to Recruitment Consultants. We thought it was important for you to find out a bit more about the people that make up #TeamProtocol. In this series, you will find out a bit about the person behind the screen, or at the end of the phone.
To continue the Protocol Spotlight series, we would like to introduce you to Kate Manning, Payroll Administrator. Kate has been part of the Protocol Family for 20 years, and is based at Head Office in Nottingham. Here’s what we found out about Kate:
- What car do you drive?
I don’t have a car but I can drive.
- What is your favourite food?
Pretty much anything spicy! If it’s too hot for the vast majority then it’s probably just right for me.
- What is your favourite drink?
I usually opt for a Pinot Grigio. But after several of those pretty much anything.
- What is your favourite film, book or TV show?
Over the last few years, I’ve found Luther and Line of Duty have been pretty hard to top. I’m sure this is a very unpopular opinion but I think Friends and most cheesy American sitcoms are awful!
- What is your dream holiday destination?
Bali, the scenery looks amazing!
- Do you have any hobbies?
I love cooking (eating) and pretending I’m into fitness.
- Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
About the age of 7, I was a really good flute player and I got a distinction in all my exams. However, I got to secondary school and decided I was too cool for it. Probably a bad decision as I could have made lots of money.
- Do you have any hidden talents?
No, they must be really well hidden.
- What sports teams do you follow?
None really. Partial to watching a big England game in a pub but I think that’s more about the pub than the game itself.
- What’s your dream car?
Seeing as I don’t currently have a car, anything would be great. But I think my lottery win purchase would be a Lamborghini Urus.
- What’s your favourite song, band or artist?
I love lots of different music, my Spotify playlist is pretty varied. Anything from Drake and Dave through to Prince and Fleetwood Mac – I’d say my favourite genre is definitely 90’s R&B.
- What was your dream job as a child?
A Vet. However, seeing as the mere sight of blood can make me pass out it’s probably wise I didn’t go down that route!
- What one skill or talent would you love to be able to master?
I would love to master gymnastics.
- If you could time travel, what year would you go back, or forward to and why?
I wouldn’t mind going forward 30 years just to double-check if global warming hasn’t bumped us all off.
- Do you have any pets?
A manky cat called Bella.
- And finally, why do you love working at Protocol?
I love working for Protocol because it really is an uplifting and positive environment to work in.
