The Coronavirus has changed the world in the last 5 months and it’s hugely affected businesses throughout the UK in one form or another. We’ve seen, and continue to see, a lot of negative news for many businesses but thankfully, as the weeks of lockdown rolled on, we’ve seen the sheer resilience of many with wonderful stories of perseverance, of teamwork, of hard-work and continuing success. At Protocol we’re immensely proud of our journey and wanted to celebrate our teamwork so we put together a video to share our story of the last few months.
As a prelude, our CEO Ian Sackree shared these words:
The Covid-19 pandemic seemed to come from nowhere and hit us all at real pace. From the outset the Protocol Team responded with care, compassion, professionalism and a ‘can do’ and ‘will do’ attitude. Enabled by our organisational capacity and financial resilience we were able to deploy our whole team remotely with no break in the volume and quality of service. As the pandemic reached its peak we could have been overrun by the work needed to support our valued workers as so many of their respective assignments were cut short and they individually faced very uncertain futures. Team Protocol kept calm, learned the new rules, stood firm by all our clients and all our candidates and did the right thing, by furloughing all candidates who were eligible whilst maintaining all our service levels for the large volumes of business that has continued. As we met the pandemic I knew as Protocol’s Chief Executive that I had a strong team. This crisis has confirmed to me that I have an outstanding team, and even greater than I could have hoped for. It has been my privilege to be part of this journey, by far our most challenging yet.
