Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Media Lecturer to join our team and educate students on a variety of media-related subjects. As a member of our Creative Industries, Digital Media, TV, Film, and VFX department, you will primarily teach at levels 1-3, with the possibility of teaching at higher levels as the department expands. Your main responsibilities will include developing and delivering curriculum materials, assessing student performance, providing constructive feedback, and monitoring and supporting student progress. You will also be responsible for keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments, supervising and guiding students through practical projects and assignments, and contributing to the development of new courses and programmes. Additionally, you will participate in departmental meetings and collaborative projects and engage in continuous professional development to enhance your teaching skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and accessible lectures and seminars on media-related subjects at levels 1-3
  • Support and guide students through practical projects and assignments
  • Develop and deliver relevant curriculum materials
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback
  • Monitor and support student progress, addressing any concerns or issues
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and developments
  • Contribute to the development of new courses and programmes
  • Participate in departmental meetings and collaborative projects
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media, Journalism, Communication, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in media-related industries or academia
  • Experience in delivering lectures or seminars
  • Experience in assessing and providing feedback on student work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD in Media, Journalism, Communication, or a related field
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Published research or professional contributions in the field#
