Job Duties:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Construction Department for a new or experienced initiative-taking Lecturer. Applicants are invited from an On-Site Construction (OSC) Carpentry, Joinery & Manufacturing background ideally able to deliver a selection of core subjects such as:

  • On-Site Construction Carpentry & Joinery: Construction Design Principles
  • On-Site Construction Carpentry & Joinery: Construction Science Principles
  • On-Site Construction Carpentry & Joinery: Building Technology Principles
  • On-Site Construction Carpentry & Joinery: Health & Safety in Construction

A broad-based knowledge of the wider Construction sector would also be advantageous.

The successful applicant will teach across a range of full-time and part-time programmes to students typically studying from Level 1 to Level 3 including Construction T-Levels (core and occupational specialisms) based on prior industrial/teaching experience.

Education:

  • QTS
  • Level 3 Qualification in Carpentry & Joinery
  • Level 2 in Maths & English
  • Assessor qualification (desirable)

Experience:

At least 3 years of experience working in the Carpentry & Joinery industry. Previous teaching experience in a further education setting is desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

Comprehensive understanding of Carpentry & Joinery techniques and practises. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate students. Strong organisational and time management skills.
