Job Title: Public Services Lecturer

Location: Romford, East London

Working Hours: 14 hours per week (Timetable to be confirmed)

Job Description:

Protocol is working with a Further Education College in Romford who is seeking a dedicated and experienced Public Services Lecturer to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for a passionate educator with a strong background in public services and a commitment to fostering student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching sessions for BTEC Protective/Public Services courses.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with quality processes related to sampling, internal verification, and other relevant procedures.
  • Contribute to the college’s mission of providing high-quality education and training.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Qualified teacher with one of the following qualifications: PGCE, QTS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching BTEC Protective/Public Services.
  • Teaching qualification such as Cert Ed or PGCE.
  • Industry experience in Police, Fire, Army, or other relevant services.
  • Understanding and experience of quality processes related to sampling, internal verification, etc.
  • IQA qualifications.
  • Assessors Award.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in a Further Education (FE) College setting.
  • Experience working in an educational establishment.
