Job Title: GCSE & Functional Skills Maths Lecturer

Location:

East of England, Norfolk

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

Salary:

£23 – £25 Per hour

Statutory Holiday Pay

Job Duties:

  • Deliver engaging and effective GCSE and Functional Skills Maths L3 lessons to students.
  • Plan and prepare course materials and lesson plans in accordance with the curriculum requirements.
  • Assess and evaluate students’ progress through assignments, exams, and other forms of assessment.
  • Provide timely feedback and support to students to help them improve their understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Identify individual learning needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the Maths curriculum.
  • Stay updated with advancements in Maths education and incorporate innovative teaching techniques.
  • Support students in their educational and personal development.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Required Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • A teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).

Education:

A relevant degree in Mathematics or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching Maths at GCSE and/or Functional Skills level.
  • Experience in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and evaluate student progress.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of the GCSE and Functional Skills Maths curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Effective classroom management skills.
  • Proficient in using educational technology and software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A postgraduate qualification in Education or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Experience in using online learning platforms and resources.
