The roles;
There are various positions available within the colleges Skills for life department offering either 3, 4 or 5 days per week starting in September 2024 with the potential to lead to permanent work.
You will be working within the colleges Life Skills/ Skills for Life/ Independent Living department, supporting, teaching, training and assessing students on their courses of study. This will include delivering Math’s, English at entry levels as well as other vocational areas (ICT skills, cooking, communication, work skills etc). All learners within this department require additional learning support (SEN/ SEND Learners). You will be responsible for delivering education and training to high standards along with preparing student materials, assessing and marking student work and carrying out student tutorials and assessments to ensure each student is achieving their best during their time in the college.
- Independent living – employability – Hammersmith – Full time 36hrs per week
- Independent living – Cooking/ life skills – Hammersmith – full time – 32.4 hrs per week
- Independent living – Communication and personal development – Southall – Full time – 32.4 hrs per week
- Independent living – Digital and IT Skills – Part time 25hrs per week
The person;
We are therefore seeking individuals that are passionate about providing quality support and education to learners of all abilities and that have relevant experience in both educational and industry fields. The individual will also have experience working with students or apprentices either in a college or an educational setting whilst being upbeat, motivational and knowledgeable in the subject area in order to educate and inspire learners. This person will be experienced in the delivery of work and life skills and also have past experience working with learners with additional learning needs.
Have you got what it takes?
- A level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
- A teaching qualification preferred or extensive teaching experience
- Experience delivering skills for life/ life skills/ work skills/ key skills/ independent living programs etc
- Experience working with learners with additional learning needs (SEN/ SEND/ PMLD/ Communication etc)
