Protocol are pleased to be working with a a Further Education college based in Rotherham in their search for an Advanced Industry Skills Coach within Engineering. 

The college are passionate and dedicated in leading innovation and skills in communities, through outstanding quality of education and development of skills for the future. They recognise the importance of Industry expertise in the development of the sectors curriculum and the supporting and progression of up and coming engineering students. Therefore are keen to support individuals to make the transition from industry specialist to an Advanced Industry Skills Coach by offering flexible contracts (full time and pro rata) and professional development that helps to develop teaching skills required to plan and deliver high quality education and training.

In this role you will use your expertise and technical skills to provide skills coaching and support students in practical workshop sessions and complete onsite assessments. Whist also coaching and tutoring students to ensure they develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to be successful in the future.

Have you got what it takes to be successful?
To be successful in this role you will need to have strong industry experience and knowledge of any Engineering field. You will be passionate about sharing this with our learners and be willing to develop your teaching / training skills in this area. You will either have, or be willing to gain experience of working with and coaching apprentices in line with the Apprenticeship  Standards, or you may be looking at working with learners on our Higher Education programmes or adult learners instead.

You will hold a vocationally relevant qualification at level 3 or higher, as well as key literacy and numeracy qualifications. You will have, or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification and a Google Educator Level 1. You may also have an IT qualification and/or an assessment qualification, but if not, then we will support you to achieve these too.

Offering a new and flexible way of working and delivering to students means the college are offerig either full time OR part time hours that will allow you will be able to plan your teaching around your current industry role, should you wish to do so.
