Protocol are working closely with a Further Education College based in South London in their search for a Speech and Language Therapist to work on a Full time (35hrs per week) basis within the college, providing initial speech and language assessments for students and supporting students with Speech, Language and Communication needs.
Within this role you will be working with learners have a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). These could range from mild to Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). Most of the students have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You will be required to deliver 1:1 and group intervention sessions, and provide initial speech and language assessments for students.
We are therefore seeking candidates that have experience working with a range of students with various learning needs. The individual will also be experienced within initial assessments of Speech, Language and communication in students. whilst also having a range of knowledge surrounding Makaton, PECs, TEACCH and other augmentative and alternative communication systems.
This role is offering full time hours (35hrs per week) on a temporary ongoing basis within the college.
Have you got what it takes?
- Have experience working with a range of students with additional learning needs
- Experience providing initial language and speech therapy
- Have a range of knowledge surrounding Makaton, PECs, TEACCH and other augmentative and alternative communication systems.
- Hold a degree level qualification in Speech and Language therapy
