Apprenticeship Tutor- Fixed term 

We are for a an Apprenticeship Tutor to join our Institution located in Malmesbury, this talented individual will help support and guide apprentices through their engineering and technology based apprenticeship. This role is fixed term until September 2024 and will be on a full time basis.

To be a part of our institution supporting apprentices on their undergraduate and postgraduate apprenticeships. To work with the programme teams (client relationship managers and academic leads) within the institution to ensure progress of the apprentices. To ensure that students maintain appropriate evidence and that both informal and contractual ongoing reporting is completed.

The Job Role

To work with the academic and compliance teams in our staff to encourage and support all apprentices to progress through the apprenticeship and to prepare them for End point assessment

  • To work with apprentices, and their work place mentors or line managers, to ensure that individual learning plans (ILPs) are developed and maintained.
  • To support apprenticeship progress throughout the programme and act as personal tutor.
  • To work with the designated End point assessment organisation and prepare Apprentices for EPA
  • To lead on ongoing progress reviews
  • To maintain all compliance documentation
  • To support apprenticeship progress throughout the programme and act as personal tutor.
  • To review progress against these ILPs, provide appropriate coaching support for apprentices where required and work with academic teams to ensure that individual or cohort issues are identified in a timely way and individual apprentice progress is noted and apprentices at risk are identified and mitigations devised and agreed

 Person Specification

  • A degree (2.1 or above) or equivalent 
    • Possession of a teaching qualification or HEA accreditation, or willingness to complete an HEA accreditation when in post 
    • Demonstrable experience of work based learning, qualification frameworks and academic and vocational assessment 
    • Significant experience of working in FE or HE and with employers, preferably from a number of different sectors 
    • An understanding of the skills and Apprenticeship landscape and needs of work based learners 
    • Highly organised with an ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline intensive environment, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy of data 
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to achieve buy-in across a spectrum of stakeholders including, academics and learning and development teams in organisations 
    • Credibility with senior internal and external teams 
    • Concern for maintenance of standards and quality in work based learning 
    • High level of self-motivation with ability to plan and deliver goals to deadlines under pressure 
    • Ability to use a range of techniques to adapt to the needs of the learners and familiarity with strategies to promote learning 
    • Demonstrable project and relationship management skills, including personal and work organisation and the ability to ensure delivery of quality solutions on-time.
    • Skilled communicator able to communicate persuasively in all media and to a wide range of audiences. 
    • Able to present progress reports as required.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and complex databases 
    • Some knowledge within the specific technical areas of the apprenticeships in engineering or digital technology would be desirable
