Protocol is excited to be working closely with a FE College in the Bath area to help recruit for an SEND Coordinator.  We are looking for a coordinator with proven experience supporting students aged 16-25 with additional learning requirements and needs to ensure the best resources are being provided for all.   The college is committed to providing a broad range of academic subjects and the department is looking for passionate and motivated people to join the team and ensure the high standards of the institution are met.

The role:

  • Full-time, permanent role, 37 hrs per week.  
  • Salary up to £33,728 depending on candidate.
  • To coordinate the delivery of support within one or more given curriculum area/s in liaison with curriculum colleagues, Facilitators and Managers.
  • To participate in the learner journey offering support to students and prospective students, which will include attending open events, taking part in the consultation process with Local Authorities, assisting at interview, agreeing support plans, and contributing to induction, tutorial, reports, parent’s evenings, assessment, recording and reviewing processes in accordance with the College regulations.
  • Identifying the individual needs of the young people (including personal care needs, requirements for specialist equipment, including assistive technologies, and strategies for managing sensory needs) and to advise Facilitators with regard to providing appropriate support on identified courses.
  • To undertake a teaching commitment of either small group / 1:1 / or team teaching as identified or requested and this may include the delivery of independent, living and social skills as required by Learner’s EHCP outcomes.

The person:

We are therefore seeking a passionate individual with a background in tutoring and supporting SEND learners with a record of success in and educational establishment.     

Have you got what it takes? 

  • Proven experience working with and supporting SEND learners and in educational setting.
  • A relevant teaching qualification, ideally PGCE and SPLD qualification.  
  • An upbeat and passionate approach to your work to ensure an outstanding provision is maintained.
