Protocol are working with a Outstanding rated Academy based in North London who are looking for an Economics/Business Head of Department. The right candidate will have extensive KS4 & KS5 Economics teaching experience, as well as the ability to teach Business to GCSE & BTEC levels. You will have responsibility for managing the Business and Economics team to promote high quality teaching, as well as being responsible for the development and management of this forward thinking department.

Role responsibilities

  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team to secure the strategic vision of the academy in line with the broad educational vision of the Trust, providing outstanding leadership that establishes the academy as a leading provider of high quality education for its students.
  • Deliver the highest possible educational standards and create a high expectation culture in which students feel safe, valued and motivated to succeed.
  • The attainment and progress in Business and Economics of all students at the academy. 

The person & qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Evidence on continuing professional development.
  • Leadership experience, including managing staff and students.
  • Understanding of innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
