Protocol are delighted to invite a skilled training lead to work as part of the engineering department within a college based in Greater Manchester, that holds the key vision that they prepare their students for success in work and life. The role will encompass the carrying out of training and learner assessments within food process manufacturing operations and machinery. With key responsibilities including teaching and assessing students, maintaining relationships with students and clients and providing internal quality assurance of learner work. 

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about food process engineering and have the drive and motivation to help learners to progress in their careers, increase their employability and support their personal development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations/ process engineering, experience of teaching and assessing, and have strong organisational and communication skills in order to inspire and educate learners. 

This role is a full time permanent positions and offers a competitive salary. 

Experience, knowledge and skills 

  • Lead Assessor & IQA experience 
  • Experience of delivering curriculum subject and area of qualifications within the curriculum area (food process manufacturing operations) 
  • Experience of assessing and/or teaching in the area of work based learning
  • Extensive experience of assessment and verification of apprenticeships using a e-Portfolio such as OneFile
  • The ability to assess learners’ starting points and monitor their progress, set challenging tasks and build on and extend learning for all learners
  • Continued professional development within the subject area/curriculum field the post relates to

The qualifications

  • A Level 3 or above qualification in PEO/Engineering
  • A teaching qualification (PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, CertEd)
  • A relevant assessing qualification (A1, D32/D33, TAQA)
  • A Verifier qualification (V1, D34)
  • Literacy and numeracy to a level 2 or a willingness to work towards
