We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Fabrication and Welding Assessor on a permanent basis, working 18.5 hours per week.

Role responsibilities

  • To assess, support and track learners in a variety of environments towards timely completion.
  • To carry out Internal Quality Assurance as required.  
  • To provide advice and guidance to learners about assessment criteria and standards and ensure full understanding
  • To take full responsibility in tracking, monitoring and supporting Apprentices and work-based learners to achieve their full framework and identify any issues with progress
  • To support apprentices in achieving their functional skills and ensuring they are accessing their on-line materials
  • To provide assessment support for learners (reviews, drop-in sessions, telephone/e-mail contacts) in a variety of contexts including provision of underpinning knowledge
  • Where appropriate, to maximise the use of e-portfolios in supporting learners
  • To liaise with employers and their representatives to ensure the timing and mode of delivery is appropriate to their needs and those of their employees.
  • To assist in the development of programme materials in line with standards issued by Awarding Bodies, Sector Skills Councils or employer requirements

The person & qualifications

  • Assessor qualifications D32 -D33 or A1 or Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
  • Internal Verifier qualification TDLB D34 or V1 or Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (or willingness to work towards)
  • A qualification relevant to the sector at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Maths and English Level 2, or equivalent
