Waste Management Officer

Protocol is delighted to be working with an FE college in West London in the recruitment of their Waste Management Officer

Fixed term contract, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 4 months
£15 per hour

Role responsibilities

  • Implement a tag system to identify an item for disposal
  • Catalogue items for disposal
  • Coordinate the movement of items around the site for storage
  • Following organisational processes for approving disposal
  • The sale of saleable items to ensure maximum residual value is achieved
  • The recycling of non saleable items to reduce environmental impact
  • The disposal of non-recycleable items
  • Ensuring compliance with organisation and legislative processes around sale and disposal

The person & qualifications

You will be self-motivated, well organised, practical individual to work as part of the Estates team and lead a substantial project in sorting and clearing a wide range of assets from our existing estate portfolio. This job will involve meeting with various managers within the organisation to identify assets for disposal and then cataloguing these assets and arranging appropriate disposal following all legislative requirements.

The post holder will be tasked with gaining maximum resale value for assets as well as minimising the environmental impact of unsaleable assets.
