Apply nowProtocol are working with a successful college in Hertfordshire with campuses in St Albans and Welwyn Garden City, to recruit for a Senior Learning Support Assistant at the St Albans campus.
The college has over 300 courses across all levels to ensure students leave college career ready. With full time courses and apprenticeships for school leavers to HND’s and foundation degrees for adult learners and everything in-between; paired with industry standard, state-of-the-art facilities and highly experienced staff, the college ensures students are prepared for the future.
Monday- Friday 37 Hours Per Week, £25,427 – £27,788 per annum pro rata term time only (for perm) depending on experience and qualifications Based at the St Albans Campus, With the flexibility to travel to the Welwyn Garden City Campus.
Temporary to permanent
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, highly motivated, and dedicated individual to Line Manage a team of Learning Support Assistants as well as support our students to ensure they reach their full potential. You will need knowledge, experience, and awareness of a variety of approaches to supporting students.
The role will include liaising closely with the Curriculum, parents, and carers to ensure they are provided with up to date, accurate information regarding the support the students are receiving, this will also include Chairing EHCP reviews
You will need to be highly organised and have attention to detail, working across all Curriculum levels within a diverse, fast-paced environment, while also Line Managing a team of Learning support assistants.
The person & qualifications
- Good standard of education or extensive experience
- Experience of supporting students with specific additional needs e.g., sensory impairment, dyslexia and/or Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome within an educational/similar environment
- Proficient level of ICT Skills (Office 365)
- Line management experience
- Knowledge of Safeguarding
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
